Questions?
What's the difference between SPF30 and SPF50?
The difference is marginal in terms of performance. SPF30 blocks 97% of UVB (burning) rays whereas SPF50 protects against 99% of UVB rays. Solarsport SPF30 has a 3 star UVA (aging) rating, which is considered high for spray sunscreen.
Is Solarsport sunscreen water- and sweat-resistant?
Yes, Solarsport sunscreen is water- and sweat-resistant. This means it won’t instantly wash off in the sea, river or pool if you take a dip, so you remain protected for longer. It also means it still protects you from UV radiation when you perspire during sport. This is what makes it the trusted choice for athletes in a wide range of sports, from golf, cricket and tennis to running, cycling and hiking. If you do sweat or go in the water, ensure you reapply regularly afterwards.
Is Solarsport sunscreen suitable for all skin types?
Yes, Solarsport sunscreen can be used safely on all skin types. The Skin Cancer Foundation recommends that everyone over the age of six months should use sunscreen every day, whether your skin tans easily or not. This is because your skin is damaged by exposure to the sun over the course of your lifetime, so using an SPF30 is especially important when outdoors.
When should I apply Solarsport SPF30 sunscreen?
You should apply Solarsport every day to ensure your skin is protected from the sun all year round. Apply at least 30 minutes before you go outside to ensure the sunscreen is fully spread on the skin, even when the weather looks cloudy, as 90% of UV rays can pass through cloud cover. The signs of sunburn can begin to appear in as little as 11 minutes, and will continue to develop over the following 24 to 72 hours, depending on the severity, so it’s crucial to apply early, especially when taking part in sport. To ensure full coverage, you should spray 15 sprays on every part of your body exposed to the sun.
How often should you reapply Solarsport sunscreen while exercising?
To ensure full protection from the sun’s rays, Solarsport sunscreen should be reapplied every 2 hours, and more frequently (every 45-60 minutes) following swimming, heavy perspiring or towelling. Applying Solarsport regularly will help ensure that your skin remains protected whether on the road, trail, tennis court, fairway or football pitch – and when you’re protected, your performance is elevated as you won’t be worrying about the effects of the sun.
What ingredients are in Solarsport SPF30 sunscreen?

Is the formula free from microplastics?
Yes, the Solarsport sunscreen formula is completely free from microplastics. You can rest assured that Solarsport will not result in microplastics entering the water system.

What are UVA, UVB and IRA rays?
UVA means ultraviolet A radiation. UVA can pass through our skin and deep into our bodies causing almost all types of skin ageing such as wrinkles and sagginess. When combined with UVB, UVA has been shown to increase the risk of skin cancer.
UVB is ultraviolet B radiation. This is a type of radiation from the sun that causes damage and sunburn to the outer layers of the skin. It affects the DNA in skin cells and can lead to melanoma.
IRA rays are infrared rays. They differ from UV rays in that they penetrate the body more deeply, going into the subcutaneous layer beneath the dermis. They can result in skin ageing and damage to the collagen.
Solarsport sunscreen protects against 97% of UVA, UVB and IRA rays.
